To qualify for JRF in sociology, candidates need to fulfil the following educational qualifications:
Postgraduate Degree: Candidates should have a Master’s degree in Sociology or a relevant allied subject like Social Work, Social Welfare, Anthropology, Social Policy, Criminology, Population Studies, etc., from a recognized Indian university or institute with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved category candidates).
Enrollment Status: When appearing for NET, the candidate must be enrolled for a doctoral program (PhD) in Sociology or allied subjects. Candidates who have already completed their PhD are also eligible to apply.
