CUET UG Timetable Remains Unaffected by Lok Sabha Election Dates, Confirms UGC Chief

CUET UG Timetable – Prospective CUET-UG candidates are advised to finalize their registrations by March 26.

UGC Chairperson Jagadesh Kumar has affirmed that the schedule for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG, set from May 15 to May 30, will proceed as planned, notwithstanding the overlap with the Lok Sabha election timeframe.

He further elaborated that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will determine and release the exact dates for CUET-UG from May 15 to May 31, depending on the registration numbers and the geographical spread of applicants.

The Election Commission has scheduled the Lok Sabha polls across 543 constituencies in seven stages, beginning April 19.

Applicants keen on participating in CUET-UG have until March 26 to complete their registration process.

This unified examination simplifies admissions for a wide array of universities, including central, state, deemed, and private institutions across the country.

Breaking from traditional examination methods, the NTA has introduced a mixed format for the CUET-UG 2024, encompassing Computer-Based Tests and pen-and-paper tests for various subjects.

It’s indicated that subjects with a larger number of registrants will be assessed using the pen-and-paper method and optical mark recognition (OMR), while the rest will continue with computer-based testing.

With around 14.9 lakh candidates registering for CUET-UG in its previous session, its role in shaping India’s educational framework is increasingly prominent.
