Q. What criteria must be met to be eligible for JRF?
To be eligible for JRF, candidates must hold a Master's degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) and have passed the NET or an equivalent exam.
Q. Is the JRF position permanent?
The JRF position is not permanent. The CSIR NET-JRF score is valid for two years, which can be extended for up to three additional years as a Senior Research Fellowship (SRF).
Q. Can JRF status be converted to a PhD?
CSIR Junior Research Fellows are expected to enrol in a PhD program within two years of starting their fellowship to remain eligible for progression to a Senior Research Fellowship.
